Payroll in Singapore

Payroll Cycle

Salary paid within 7 days after salary period; OT within 14 days.

Minimum Wage

Singapore does not impose a universal minimum wage. Instead, the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) sets mandatory wage ladders for selected sectors.

Overtime Pay

- Standard hours: 44 hours per week; 8 hours per day. - Overtime applies beyond these limits. - Maximum overtime: 72 hours per month unless Ministry of Manpower approval is granted.

- Eligible employee overtime: Overtime Pay = Hourly Basic Rate × 1.5 × Overtime Hours.

Bonus

13th Month

Singapore does not require a 13th month salary. The Annual Wage Supplement or AWS is payable only when included in the employment contract, collective agreement, or binding company practice.

No statutory 13th month formula. Any separate annual bonus follows the amount or formula in the applicable contract, collective agreement, or binding employer scheme.

Employees covered by the relevant AWS term are eligible. The amount is commonly up to 1 month of basic salary, but the actual amount, proration, and payment date follow the governing term. Employers reducing an established AWS should follow Ministry of Manpower guidance and consult employees or unions where applicable.
