斐济人才格局
Fiji has an estimated labor force of about 390,000 (2025), with talent demand concentrated in tourism, public services, agriculture, business services and financial services. International employers are most likely to find relevant candidate pools for Hospitality, Customer Support, and Accounting & Finance. The market is compact, so targeted hiring and regional talent mobility are important for scarce specialist roles.

Talanoa and Open Relationship Building
Fijian teams often value talanoa, an open and relational style of discussion that allows people to share context and build mutual understanding. Managers should make space for conversation rather than rushing directly to a decision.
Community and Family Commitments
Family, village and church responsibilities can affect availability, especially around major events. Planning with reasonable notice and discussing constraints respectfully helps employees balance collective obligations with work.
Respectful Leadership with Warmth
Seniority is recognised, but leaders are often expected to be approachable and considerate. Publicly forceful management can reduce participation, while clear guidance delivered with warmth tends to build loyalty.

发薪周期
The pay period and pay date are set by the employment terms. Salaried employees are commonly paid monthly.
最低工资
A statutory national minimum wage applies, with separate wage regulations possible for certain industries or occupations.
加班费
- Normally up to 48 hours per week, with daily scheduling governed by the employment contract, wage regulation order or collective agreement. - Confirm the applicable sector wage regulation order because Fiji does not apply one identical overtime formula to every occupation.
- Overtime Pay = Ordinary Hourly Rate × Multiplier in the applicable Fiji Wage Regulation Order, collective agreement or contract × Overtime Hours.

第 13 个月薪资
Fiji does not impose a general statutory 13th month salary on private sector employers. Private sector employees therefore have no automatic entitlement to an additional annual salary unless a binding employment contract, collective agreement, wage order, employer rule, or special sector law provides one.
No statutory private sector calculation applies. Where a binding instrument grants an annual bonus or 13th salary, the amount must be calculated under that instrument; there is no legal default that it equals 1 month of salary.
No private sector employee in Fiji qualifies automatically under the general labour law. Eligibility is limited to employees expressly covered by the applicable contract, collective agreement, wage order, employer rule, or special sector provision. The general law does not prescribe a universal minimum service period, prorating method, payment deadline, or entitlement after resignation or dismissal for a 13th salary. Those points must be determined from the specific binding instrument. Statutory leave pay, severance, end of service benefits, profit sharing, and public sector payments are separate benefits and should not be recorded as private sector 13th month salary unless the local rule expressly treats them that way.

| Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and workers’ compensation | Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and workers’ compensation is the principal mandatory benefit framework for eligible staff in Fiji. The employer is responsible for onboarding the worker with the administering institution, calculating contributions on the legally defined wage base and remitting both shares where employee withholding applies. Exemptions for expatriates, short assignments or specific sectors should be confirmed before payroll starts. |
| Work injury protection under Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and workers’ compensation | Work related accidents in Fiji are handled under the statutory injury provisions associated with Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and workers’ compensation. Employers remain responsible for registration, contribution or insurance costs and timely incident reporting. Eligible workers can receive medical care and cash compensation for incapacity, disability or death according to the local schedule. |
| Statutory termination or end of service entitlement in Fiji | Redundancy compensation is generally one week of wages for each completed year of service under the Employment Relations framework, unless a more favourable collective agreement applies. Final pay also includes notice and unused leave. |
| Public healthcare or mandatory medical coverage in Fiji | Fiji relies mainly on its public health system rather than a universal employer purchased medical policy. The employer must still comply with any payroll health levy, social insurance medical branch or visa linked insurance requirement that applies to the worker. Private group medical cover is therefore supplementary unless local law expressly makes it compulsory for the employee category. |
| 可选 | |
| Supplementary private medical insurance in Fiji | Private medical insurance in Fiji should be designed around the gaps left by Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and workers’ compensation. Employers commonly add faster outpatient access, private hospital treatment, dental, optical, mental health and dependant cover. The policy remains optional unless a visa, emirate, collective agreement or sector rule makes insurance compulsory, and any taxable benefit treatment should be processed through payroll. |
| Performance or profit sharing bonus in Fiji | A performance or profit sharing bonus in Fiji is optional unless promised by contract, collective agreement or an established plan. The rules should specify the performance period, measurable targets, proration for joiners and leavers, and treatment during protected leave. Payroll must apply local income tax and social contribution rules to the payment. |
| Meal, commuting and business travel support in Fiji | Meal, commuting and business travel support in Fiji should be split between fixed cash allowances and reimbursements supported by receipts. That distinction determines whether the amount is taxable salary, exempt expense repayment or part of the contribution wage. The policy should state limits, eligible journeys and the treatment of remote work. |
| Housing, relocation and remote work support in Fiji | Housing, relocation and remote work support in Fiji is normally contractual rather than statutory. The policy should identify covered costs, taxable benefit treatment, repayment conditions for early departure and whether the support is temporary or continues throughout the assignment. |
